SGL is pleased to announce that the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff will be upgrading their installation of the SGL Concept to 9 Mobile Units type MU360. As from August, Head Groundsman Lee Evans is able to treat his entire pitch with the SGL Concept, allowing for summer quality all year round.

Last January two units were already brought in to the Millennium Stadium, which is internationally known for its poor growing conditions. "After only a few weeks, results were already amazing", says Lee Evans, "and that with only two units". Lee had already seen the SGL Concept at work at the stadiums of Arsenal, Tottenham and PSV, but needed to convince the people at the Millennium Stadium that the system would also work in Cardiff. It was therefore decided to work with two units on a relatively small area, to be able to clarify the results and the differences with the untreated area.

After a few weeks, results were even better than expected. After only 2 weeks, the treated area had on average 25 times more roots that the untreated area and roots were also 6 to 7 times longer. The following weeks the differences only became bigger and it gave Head Groundsman Lee Evans good possibilities to convince everyone at Millennium: "I kept track of the progress in the project and reported all the differences. But the best way to convince everybody was to just let them walk across the pitch and feel and see the differences themselves. That's worth more than a thousand words."

Half April the new contract was signed. Both parties are delighted with the deal. "The Millennium Stadium is one of the most famous stadiums in Europe and we are happy to help them have a high quality pitch that matches their image", says Nico van Vuuren, founder of SGL.
